This morning the green fists of the peonies are getting ready
to break my heart
as the sun rises,
as the sun strokes them with his old, buttery fingers

Doing the best with what we have

Really, I believe that people are doing the best they can with what they have at the moment.

When people cross boundaries that I think should be obvious; when I find myself offended by someone else's words; and when I evaluate myself and am disappointed....

Then I can be graceful, forgiving and allow myself and others the space to continue to grow. For that is what we are all doing: growing.

Grow! We all have our own experiences, our own attitudes, our own patterns of behavior that help us decide how to act, and we can all take time to change, experiment, strengthen, and grow. So take the time! Spend the energy! Pay attention to yourself!

I will be giving myself and you the grace and space we both need in order to grow. I encourage you to do the same. It is a fulfilling and forgiving way to view the people in your world.
